The?Galaxy S Relay 4G will be running a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm S 3 processor, 1GB of RAM and be running Ice Cream Sandwich. Obviously the device will also be able to connect and use T-Mobile 4G 42Mbps+ network. Beyond that, the remained of the specs are pretty average. You will get a 4-inch screen at 800 x 480, a 5MP rear camera with 720p HD video recording and a 1.3 front facer.
The real selling point of this device is the full 5 row QWERTY keyboard that slides out from the bottom along with the SAFE (Samsung Approved for Enterprise) integration,?AES-256 bit encryption, and enhanced support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
?Consumers are increasingly looking for a powerful device that makes it easy to integrate their busy work and personal lives,? said Andrew Morrison, vice president of product management, T-Mobile USA. ?The Galaxy S Relay 4G is the perfect addition to T-Mobile?s popular Galaxy smartphone lineup, providing our customers with a reliable and business-centric Android experience ? and the easy access to entertainment for which Galaxy devices are known.?
T-Mobile hasn?t had a good solid QWERTY device since the G2, so the Relay 4G is a rather welcomed sight to see over the myTouch line that is currently out. Sadly they don?t offer up a price point or launch date, rather they state it will be available in coming weeks. With school already starting I think they missed the boat for getting it sold quickly. Still, it will be nice to have in the T-Mobile line-up.
